through the historical centre of Menen. The tour takes 2 to 3 hours on roads easy of access.

Description: the town of Menen takes the lead regarding an innovative information provision
system on your own mobile phone. The
system is available 24 hours a day,
7 days a week (= 24/7).
Simply dial 02 255 50 93 to have access to the
information on 20 points of interest.
Then enter the number corresponding to the point of interest (e.g. 1 = town hall) and press the #-key.
You immediately hear the guide telling you all about the monument in front of
you (1.5 to 2 minutes). You only pay the cost you would pay for a call to a
fixed number (no pay number). The information is also available in French (02
255 50 91) and in Dutch (02 255 50 92). This system was created in
collaboration with the province of West Flanders in the scope of an Interreg
project. On the sites of the 20 places
of interest, reference signs also give a brief explanation on the system.

"Smokkelaarspad"

Description: the Smokkelaarspad, or smuggler's trail, goes partly over French territory. Do not forget to put on boots
in rainy weather. The track is not really suitable for wheelchairs or baby buggies.

"Kortewagenpad"

Description: the Kortewagenpad, literally translated as the short wagon trail, is situated exclusively on the
territory of the township of Lauwe. For the greater part,
this walk follows rural roads and trails. The walker discovers unknown nooks,
surprising landscapes and splendid pieces of nature.
